Dark spot in center of vision

Posted by Zoey on 19th Oct 2024

Installed these to replace my stock halogens in my 2007 Mazda 5 projector low beams, they both have less visible brightness and throw then the stock halogens from 2007. They also create a dark spot in the center of the beam creating a difficult experience driving at night. HVC REPLY: The shadow spot is likely caused by the bulb fan which is mounted at the top of the bulb. For projector headlamps we'd suggest using the H7 V22 LED series which has the smallest shadow profile. The LED diode location on the H7 i8 is identical to the H7 halogen bulb, so the reflection should be exactly in the same spot for both H7 led and halogen bulbs. The projected brightness could be affected by the installation of the H7 bulb, as each bulb can be installed with led diodes pointing up/down (incorrect) or left/right (correct installation). Please check the install.
