Is your vehicle experiencing hyper-flashing signal lights after upgrading 7440 halogen bulbs to LED? To remedy the hyper-flashing problem, plug one side of this resistor into the 7440 OEM signal light socket and the LED bulb into the other side. The resistors do get hot when in use, so mount them on a metal surface or have plenty of free space around them. What these resistors do is create larger power draw on the electrical system (signal light), similar to the one created by a halogen bulb, preventing the signal light flasher from hyper-flashing. Why does the flasher hyper-flash? The flasher is designed to hyper-flash as a way of alarming you when a halogen signal light bulb is burned out. LED bulbs have such little power draw that the flasher thinks the bulb is burned out, even though it is not, that is why it hyper-flashes. The other way to solve hyper-flashing is to make sure the signal light LED bulb is a 27W bulb which draws 2.25A@12V.
